The day trip to Mt Rainier - still had snow everywhere!

The end of June...Paradise is cool weather not the furnace blast we had just left!

2011 Washington Vacation

Leaving Las Vegas in 106 plus tempatures to a cool 65 to 82 degree in Gig Harbor Washington was perfect timing for us (escape the heat). We flew over the 3 Pacific coast rings of fire (volcanos) in the Cascade mountain range: Mount Hood (11,429 ft) , Mount St Helens and Mount Rainer(14,110 ft.) The beauty of flying is to see the topography of the land from the air. Each peak had snow capped tops inviting us closer to cooler weather.

I took these pictures of Mount Rainer in the air in 2006.

The first day (June 25th) was a going away party at a local resturant for my niece Serena. Her family moved to Oregon.  Mom Cindy has hugs for her baby girl!

On Monday June 27th, we took a drive to Mount Rainier. The temp that day was about 65 degree. We started the day out with a wonderful breakfast at a local diner along the road.
